Preparation for MRI

Bring the following diagnostic information with you: ultrasonography results, previous CT or MRI results (images, discs), medical documents, hospital documents (any document enabling to justify the need for examination).


Preparation for abdominal cavity and retroperitoneum MRI


Do not eat 3 hours before examination. Do not drink a lot (no thirst perception). Do not eat gas-forming products within 2 days (vegetables, bread, fruits, whole milk).


6-8 hours before examination take 2 pills of NO-SPA Forte. 30 minutes before the examination take 2 pills of NO-SPA.


Preparation for urogenital MRI


Full urinary bladder – drink before the examination (500-700 mL) and do not urinate for 1 hour.


Do not eat 3 hours before the examination (if IV contrasting).


Keep taking prescribed medicines.


6-8 hours before the examination take 2 pills of NO-SPA Forte + 30 minutes before the examination take 2 pills of NO-SPA.


Preparation for pelvic MRI


Do not eat 3 hours before the examination (if IV contrasting). Drinking is allowed.


Women of childbearing age (when verifying gynaecological pathology) should pass examination on days 7-12 of menstrual cycle.


One day before the examination do not eat gas-forming products and products stimulating peristaltic motion: do not eat crude fibre (cabbage, fruits, other vegetables), fermented milk, carbonated water, black bread.


Examination is conducted with moderately full urinary bladder.


6-8 hours before the examination take 2 pills of NO-SPA Forte. 30 minutes before the examination take 2 pills of NO-SPA Forte.
